What it does
You describe an outdoor activity and the conditions it needs: temperature, rain chance, rain amount, wind and gusts, UV, humidity, cloud cover and daylight. Fairspell scans the hourly forecast for runs of consecutive hours that meet every rule, scores each run 0 to 100 and ranks them. A score of 80 or more is a "fair spell"; 60 to 79 is workable; below 60 is not shown.
It also checks the hours before and after a window. Mowing can require about twelve dry hours beforehand, and paint or sealant can require dry hours afterwards; windows that fail those rules are trimmed or rejected.
Templates (mow the lawn, paint the fence, long run, wash the car, astro night, hang out laundry, family picnic) come with rules already set, and each rule can be adjusted by dragging a band. Each window opens to an hour-by-hour chart, the conditions behind the score, the forecast's confidence at that range, and whether the dry-hours rule passed. Windows can be added to the calendar or shared.
The free version allows two activities and a three-day horizon. Fairspell Full, a one-time in-app purchase, adds unlimited activities, a ten-day horizon and a separate place for each activity. Forecast data comes from Apple Weather. The app collects no data: no account, analytics, advertising or third-party code; location is rounded to about one kilometre and sent only to Apple Weather. The developer describes the scores as guidance, not a guarantee.
